  13. Here's the information I got at the VTUG meeting last night:

  15. $99  - 3.5 upgrade "toaster required" version (avail. only thru dealers)
  16. $695 - 3.5 standalone (no toaster req.) version
  17. $150 - 4.0 upgrade from 3.5 standalone version (to any of the 3 platforms)
  18. $995 - 4.0 purchase w/o upgrade (windoze, NT, SGI, Amiga versions avail)

  20. I am not sure of all the dates, but the $99 upgrade is available from
  21. dealers now, the $695 version to be available within a few months, and
  22. the 4.0 version available early 1995.  I suspect 4.0 version availability
  23. does not mean all four versions of 4.0.

  25. Other news:
  26. Gina DiBari of Electric Image gave a glowing review of the Toaster Flyer
  27. (and this was hands on, mind you).  She said it was far better in all
  28. respects (speed, ease-of-use, and price) than any of the high-end
  29. non-linear video solutions.  The audio portion of the Flyer software is
  30. not completed yet but I believe she said it is planned to be 8 track
  31. CD quality.  It is not supposed to replace the need for Studio 16, but
  32. reportedly will work well in conjunction with it.

  34. Alpha Paint is hot!

  36. The Sound Switch from Sunrize ($350) seems like a nice accessory.  It
  37. allows up to 4 audio sources to be switched by (and in conjunction with)
  38. the switcher effects.  It even works with the T4000 effects audio.
